The
demonstration included the simulation of a seismic event measuring
on the Richter's scale 5.8; happened at 03:41 a.m. (local
time) on July the 15th 2006; The earthquake epicenter was
located near the Bovec's area (Slovenia) close to the Italian
border. Therefore it was necessary to monitor the progress
of the seismic activity following the main event, with the
help of a Civil Protection team that operated in the localities
largely concerned in damage in the habitated areas, as Bovez,
Zaga and Kobarid: with this intention it was decided to prepare
a recording station about 5 km far away from the epicenter.
The mapping station had to keep in touch constantly, via radio-wave,
with the Operative Center (O.C.) and up-date the evolving
situation.
